Manchester to London

It was a hard ride from Manchester to London this year due to a strong headwind and a few climbs in the Peak District, still managed 345km in 11:43:10 - riding with Ben and Andrew.

M2L was organised with military precision by the folk at Rapha, all you had to focus on is pedaling, eating, drinking and suffering.

My Colnago C40 is the perfect balance of comfort, performance, and style, and coordinates nicely with the Rouleur x Pas Normal Studios kit. Good quality clothing is essential on a ride of this duration, you need to be comfortable and efficient - a good pair of bib shorts and a pro cut jersey make all the difference and gain some style points.

I took a 'real food' philosophy on the road with me, not a gel in sight. Dr. Chris Bartlett - Head Chef at Rapha, knocked-up some energy balls made of dates, almond butter, and cocoa nibs, they provided me with good sugars, fats, protein and flavor.

It was a great morale booster seeing Brad Wiggins out on the road, helping friends and riders to the finish, a true gent.

The funds raised for @ambitiousaboutautism made the pain worthwhile, my fundraising page is still open if you'd like to make a donation to Ambitious about Autism.

Thanks to everyone that has donated so far.

Gareth.
