Colnago Owners Day

My love for Colnago runs deep, Eddy rode them, Museeuw, Tafi, Ballerini... the list goes on... Heroic victories meet the perfect balance of style and performance, the bike's of Ernesto Colnago are truly unique.
The Colnago owners day was a great excuse to geek-out over some of the most beautiful bikes in the world, meet some legends of the sport and enjoy a nice spin in the Cotswolds.

The event was hosted by Colnago and Le Col, Yanto Barker (Ex Team GB) wanted to create an event that celebrates and brings together Colnago fans from around the country. On arrival, it was clear that we all had one thing in common... There was a courtyard filled with Italian bike porn, Steel framed Masters, Arabesques, and Supers along with early carbon C40's, one-offs and a whole host of C60's, Concepts and the new VR-2 model, all stunning in their own right, timeless in design.

The event started with a 70km spin in the countryside, Ben Swift led the ride out along with Yanto Barker and Matt Barbet, it was pretty incredible to ride alongside Swifty, especially after his performance in the World Championships in Bergen.

Ben Swift held a talk later in the day, about his training, performance at the worlds, review of the Colnago range he'd ridden in the pro peloton, nutrition, and general wheel talk. During Ben's talk I was sitting at the back of the conference room of the prestigious Chavenage House, with the two naughty boys of the class - Maurice Burton and Mick Ives, these two hitters are still showing up the 'young guns' and doing what they love best, I have a lot of respect for these riders, photographing their portraits was a real honour.

Big thanks to Rouleur magazine for inviting me, it was a gas.

Gareth.
