CHPT3 One More Lap

David Millar (British Cycling legend) has won stages & the leader's jersey of all three grand tours, National Championships etc, etc... One of my favourite displays from Millar was during his role as road captain at the World Championships where he united the Great Britain team that lead Mark Cavendish to victory at the Copenhagen World Championships 2011 - in fact, that is probably my favourite race of all time, all of my heroes in one place with a united goal.

Millar is renowned for style and performance, his launch of CHPT3 was bound to catch the eye, no longer bound by the billboards of pro cycling he was able to create a brand that reflected the style and beauty of the sport, weaving his persona into the design and brand, working alongside Castelli.

As a self-proclaimed Rouleur I live for the Spring Classics, these are the races I love to watch, the Parcours I love to ride, the CHPT3 'One More Lap' jersey is a tribute to Millar's history and experience with Paris Roubaix - Queen of the Classics, it carries his own unique story:

“18 years as a professional, over a thousand days racing under my belt, and yet there was one day's racing I'd never completed - Paris-Roubaix. In my final year, 2014, it was one of my primary objectives, to finish that is. 257 km, 28 cobbled sections totalling nearly 60 km, and two laps of a velodrome. I did it all, apart from the last lap. I stood in the middle of that most famous of velodromes, helmet off, knocking back a Fanta, face covered in dirt, feeling a bit of a hero. Until my wife told me I had one more lap to do. ONEMORELAP? That pretty much summed up my final year, it wasn't exactly a blaze of glory. Still, I love that race, and when it came to finding inspiration for our new interpretation of a classic jersey there was only one classic worth representing, the Queen of them all.”

The jerseys geometric, graphic representation of the velodrome is beautiful, you can tell this kit is a 'cut' above the rest, the fabrics, stitching, zipper, fit, length, design and feel seem to have more in common with tailoring than cycling kit. Castelli are one of the best cycling kit manufacturers in the world, even they have outdone themselves.
